Brasilian Soul
Hosted by Belo Espaco, in Belo Horizonte, Brasilian Soul was the first exhibition of Matheus’ work in Brazil. The show encompassed paintings produced during a three month stay in his native country in early 2015. Particular series are pop interpretations of classic Brazilian characters including Samba Legends like,Cartola,Adoriram Barbosa ,Jair Rodrigues , Noel Rosa and Brazilian Girls like Gisele Bundchen and Adriana Lima.
The show was promoted by the city’s best public relations firm and Matheus was interviewed on local radio networks and for national publications including Hoje em Dia. Following the show’s great success, a sale of 39 pieces in 3 days, he produced his first book which was translated into English and gifted to clients and galleries during his travels abroad.
