Matheus is a talented and multifaceted artist whose work explores the captivating intersection of art and design. Hailing originally from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Matheus was introduced to the arts at a young age, honing his skills in street art as he grew up.

In 2009, he relocated to the vibrant city of New York to further his knowledge of architectural design. Matheus accomplished this through a combination of traditional art and fashion courses, as well as interior design classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology. This cosmopolitan city has deeply influenced Matheus' work, inspiring him to create his first solo exhibition, Caras e Cores. The exhibition debuted at the Avant Garde Gallery in New York's Lower East Side and was subsequently featured in New York Magazine.

Matheus' art has been widely praised and recognized by a variety of sources. Global Citizen selected him as their featured artist for their annual charity art show in Soho, and he has completed numerous private commissions both in New York and abroad. In 2014, Matheus designed and produced his first line of furniture, Brazilian Soul, which led to successful design partnerships with interior architecture firms. His work has also been exhibited at Art Basel Miami’s WynwoodLab and Jalan Jalan in the Design District in Miami.

One of Matheus' most notable achievements was his solo exhibition, Style Is The Limit, held at Gallery 151 in Chelsea in 2015. This event showcased a range of his series and highlighted his artistic roots, process, and future ambitions. Matheus' work was also displayed at Neiman Marcus in Chicago, where he held a solo exhibition titled Visceral, which was curated by Carol Nasaw. In 2016, Matheus was invited by Lexus to work on a new collection of paints for the company's new car in Brazil. During this time, his art was prominently displayed all over the newest cars from Lexus, creating a connection between his work and the internationally acclaimed Japanese corporation.

In 2017, Matheus was selected as the second artist in residence for the new arts program at the Hotel on Rivington. He exhibited 21 pieces of his art throughout the hotel, restaurant, and club, demonstrating his ability to create art that can be appreciated in a variety of contexts. Matheus continued to grow and evolve as an artist, studying sculpture and completing an art residency in Accademia d’Arte – AD’A in Florence, Italy. During his return from Italy, Matheus was invited to create an installation at Kola House, an entertainment venue that focuses on music, gastronomy, and art. Matheus opened his show with rapper Rick Ross, with MG paints in the background.

In 2018, Matheus participated in a residency in Tokyo, where he showcased his work in a group show titled Revolucid NYC. Upon his return to New York, Matheus was invited by Tigress for a campaign with Vogue Magazine. His art studio in Harlem was selected for Vogue Mexico with Balenciaga, and his paintings were featured prominently in the campaign, bringing attention and focus to his art internationally with acclaimed brands such as Balenciaga and Vogue Magazine.

Taking a break from the New York art scene, Matheus moved to London in 2019 to study human behavior, cultural anthropology, and anthropology of spaces. He enrolled in programs at Goldsmiths, University of London and Central Saint Martins, where he explored themes related to his past experiences and passions. Matheus delved into the Rorschach technique and produced a collection of emotive and expressive works that were presented in London.

In 2020 and 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic,Matheus traveled to Brazil and Mexico to explore his cultural heritage and produce new works of art. He journeyed to Bahia and created a series of paintings entitled Brasil com Z, which explored Brazilian folklore through vibrant colors and depictions of Bahianas. Matheus also collaborated with Luciana Lobato on a capsule collection called Amenostodos, which included jackets, hoods, and T-shirts, all produced and designed in his hometown of Belo Horizonte.

Matheus' artistic career has continued to soar in 2022. He was commissioned to produce 22 paintings for a contemporary mansion in the E. Hamptons, a project that showcases his talent for working on large-scale projects. He also curated a successful gallery in his hometown, which was overseen by his friend and mentor in the architecture world, Humberto Hermerto.

The gallery showcased Matheus' Teste Rorschach series, consisting of 18 paintings, and later that year december , he debuted his series of works called Color Code at Art Basel Miami, which are currently on display at Brown Jordan Miami located in the Design District. The preview was a success, with a private party in the beginning of 2023 March with Luxe Magazine.
